Alan: Give us a break, Father.
Monica: Or at least a clue.
Edward: Patience, patience. All will be revealed in time, hmm?
Alan: Well, that's exactly what I don't have. I'm overwhelmed with paperwork at the hospital because I spend all of my time trying to stop Rick Webber from taking over my life. Now, if you do have a reason, please say it.
Edward: Well, in the first place, we spend far too little time as a family, and family is what the dinner hour's all about. You know, a regathering from our days out in the world, just reminiscing and sharing anecdotes over a civilized meal, huh?
Monica: Have you been drinking?
Lila: I think Edward has touched on a lovely idea.
Edward: Thank you, my dear. And as always, yours is the only opinion that matters, other than my own, of course.
Ned: I'm intrigued by who you're considering family these days, Grandfather. I mean, I can't help but notice Skye, hardly your favorite person.
Edward: But my grandchild, nevertheless.
Ned: Which means Jax...
Skye: Is here with me.
Alan: All right, Father. You said you had a couple of reasons. Let's try another one that we can actually buy.
Edward: Well, I have a very special gift for Lila, hmm?
[Doorbell rings, but Reginald doesn't move]
Edward: If it... Hey! If it isn't too much trouble, get...
Reginald: [to Edward, handing him the platter and napkins] Here you go.
Edward: How do we manage to find such insolent staff?!
Lila: Reginald isn't staff, Edward. He's family.
Reginald: Thank you, Mrs. Quartermaine. Here you go.
[Reginald leaves to answer the door]
Edward: Well, here he is. AJ?! What the hell are you doing here?
Lila: Darlings, how lovely to see you.
AJ: Oh, it's lovely to see you, too, Grandmother.
Courtney: Sorry to barge in. We just didn't expect to find the entire family in one room together.
Ned: Command performance. We're all awaiting some mysterious and momentous event.
AJ: I guess our invitation got lost in the mail. All heirs disinherited need not apply.
Monica: AJ, this is Edward's doing, but your father and I are very pleased to see you.
AJ: Are you pleased to see my wife?
Jax: I am. How are you, Courtney?
Courtney: Hey, Jax.
AJ: What's your business here, Jax?
Skye: What's your business here, AJ? You know, you really don't have to do this, put yourself through all this, unless you enjoy masochism.
Monica: Who are you to advise my son to stay away from his...
Skye: I happen to care about his well-being. Who else in this room can say that?
Reginald: Jason's here.
Edward: Here's your surprise, Lila.
Jason: Hello, Grandmother. It's good to see you.
Lila: My darling! You look wonderful.
Jason: So do you.
Lila: Reginald, I'd like a moment alone with my grandson.
Reginald: Sure.
Ned: Jason.

[As everyone greets Jason, Skye approaches Edward]
Skye: Two visits from the golden child in less than 24 hours, Edward? I'm beginning to see a nasty pattern developing here and just when I'm beginning to trust you. Don't tell me you're thinking of double-crossing me when the ink on my contract is barely dry.
Edward: Oh, Skye, relax. You've got it made. All you have to do is do your part of the deal and you're my sole heir, hmm? So now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go spend some quality time with the prodigal thug.
[Edward leaves Skye and Jax walks up]
Jax: What was that about?
Skye: Oh, you know. Edward being Edward.
Jax: Did he upset you?
Skye: And why would he? You have promised me that you're going to take care of him and I trust you.
Jax: Good.
Skye: Think I've had enough family togetherness for one evening. Will you get me out of here?
Jax: I thought you'd never ask.
Skye: For those of you who care, Jax and I are leaving. [to AJ] And, I would advise anyone who's fortunate enough not to live here to do the same thing.
Jax: Good night, everyone.
----------------------------------
Skye: [after spotting Sonny and Carly] You know what? On, on second thought, why don't we just go home? I'm really not in the mood for another altercation with the mob boss' loony wife.
Jax: No, I really need to speak to Carly.
Skye: You really seek that woman out. You know, that's something I will never quite understand.
Jax: Do me a favor, you keep Sonny occupied and I promise I'll make it worth your while.
Skye: I hate him.
Jax: I know. Come on. [to Sonny and Carly] What's up, guys?
Carly: Hey
Skye: Hi. Sonny, do you think it's possible that I could have a word with you, please?
Sonny: As long as you don't keep me away from my wife too long.
Skye: Oh, I wouldn't dream of it.
[they step away]
Carly: [to Jax] Ok, what the hell business does Skye have with Sonny?!
Jax: Oh, nothing. She's, she's just decoying him as a courtesy to you.
Carly: Which means what?
Jax: Which means I don't think you want your husband to know that you embezzled $100,000 from the club.
Carly: Look, Jax, if there is a discrepancy in the books, then we need to go over it together.
Jax: I've already been over the books, Carly. I know that you took the money. But if you want to pretend that you didn't and run a big bluff, then I can get an accountant to conduct an audit. But that may have unfortunate consequences on your newfound happiness with Sonny.
Carly: Well, you think Sonny would really care if I stole money from you?
Jax: No, he probably wouldn't. Actually, he'd probably applaud your ingenuity. But, I think he would care why you need the money. It's probably something he wouldn't approve of, something that he'd actually hate. Stop me when I get something wrong. Sonny looks like he's in a good mood, that's rare. Would you like me to go over there and spoil it for him?
Carly: Oh, come on. [Jax moves toward Sonny, Carly grabs him] All right, all right, all right, Jax, ok.
Jax: Ok.
Carly: I took the money, ok, but it was only a loan. I have every, every intention of paying it back.
Jax: Well, that won't be necessary.
Carly: What, are you saying I should just keep the money?
Jax: A small price to pay for a lesson well learned. As much as I enjoy you, Carly, I can't trust you. And I don't happen to be in love with you, so I won't make the same mistake over and over again, like Sonny, giving you one more chance for one more betrayal.
Carly: Look, there's, there's got to be some price that you're going to make me pay.
Jax: I want your resignation on my desk.
Carly: Like hell!
Jax: You'll still get your share of the profits. All you're really losing is your position and your salary as club manager.
Carly: Well, excuse me if I disagree, but I would be losing control of my dream.
Jax: This partnership was built on false pretenses, ok? You said originally that you wanted to get away from Sonny. Now, that hasn't been the case. And believe me, it was never my intention to be in business with Mrs. Sonny Corinthos.
Skye: It's Emily. Jason really blames me for what happened to our little sister and the accident that I bitterly regret. Well, you know, I'd really like to make amends with Jason. Like it or not, he is my brother, and family does mean something to me, you know? And I would think that you would understand that.
Sonny: Why do you think any of this matters to me?
Skye: Well, I know that Jason listens to you. I was hoping that you could put in a good word for me.
[Sonny laughs]
Sonny: You know what? It was nice chatting with you and all, but there's no point. Ok, we're done here.
[he leaves her and takes Carly away from Jax]
Skye: I hate that man more than God hates sin, so you'd better have a very good explanation why I was manipulated into spending one single moment with him.
Jax: [cupping her cheek] Because you are resourceful and cooperative and about to be duly rewarded.
[They sit down]
Jax: So you having fun?
Skye: Well, I'd be enjoying myself more if you told me what that reward is you're dangling in front of me.
Jax: Well, take a look around.
Skye: So?
Jax: Well, this is it.
Skye: Uh, I'm not following.
Jax: Carly resigned her position as club manager, so the spot's open.
Skye: Wait a minute. Let me get this straight. I've been shut out of my family's world-class conglomerate so I can keep myself busy running a nightclub?
Jax: Well, think of it as keeping your instincts sharp until I deliver ELQ back into your hands.
Skye: I will give your offer all of its due consideration.
