[Door opens]
Skye: Oh, Jax, do me a favor, would you? My zipper seems to be stuck. Could you pull it up or down?
Edward: I'm sure he would be happy to oblige if he were here.
Skye: Get out! Jax will be here any minute.
Edward: Hmm. Judging from the candles, you've been, well, you've been expecting him for some time.
Skye: He had a business meeting.
Edward: Oh, a meeting, huh? At this hour?
Skye: I assume there is a reason for you barging in here unannounced.
Edward: Well, yes, I, I happen to have some information about Jax that should strengthen your resolve to follow through with our deal, huh?
Skye: I have no intention of backing out.
Edward: No? That seductive purring I heard when I walked in here was so convincing that I almost believed that you genuinely cared for him.
Skye: Out with it, Grandfather. Why are you really here?
Edward: Well, I thought I should tell you that Lila and I had dinner tonight at the Grill, and I just happened to bring along my digital camera. And who do you think we saw, huh? Jax's dinner companion seems to be enjoying herself, and he does, too, huh?
Edward: Jax's dinner companion is really very lovely, isnt she?
Skye: Maybe she's the person he had the business meeting with.
Edward: Of course she is. She's the CEO of the company that he's trying to buy, Treycon Industries.
Skye: Really?
Edward: Yeah.
Skye: I've read about them in the news.
Edward: Mm-hmm. Caught Jax's interest, too, and he's very, huh, he's very eager to make the deal.
Skye: So you came here to gloat?
Edward: No, no, no. No, no, my dear. I have an assignment for you.
Skye: Yeah? Well, make it quick. We can't have Jax find us here together. He'll suspect that we're up to something.
Edward: You see, Reginald is parked outside, and he has orders to ring my cell phone once when Jax arrives. Although I dont think there's any danger of that because when last I saw Jax, he seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the thrill of the chase, hmm?
Skye: I already agreed to help you ruin Jax, Grandfather. What else do you want?
Edward: I want Treycon Industries. I want you to find out what Jax is offering so that I can outbid him. And I want you to get that information and call me.
Skye: I can't guarantee I can get that.
[Phone rings once]
Edward: Oh, God, that's Jax.
Skye: Oh, God. All right, over here, quick. Come over here. [She hides Edward out of sight] Stay there. Now, stay there.
Jax: Sorry I'm late.
Skye: Oh. It's all right.
Jax: What's wrong?
[Skye glances nervously at the camera that's been left on the table, she pulls Jax to her trying to distract him]
Skye: You just caught me trying to freshen up this romantic dinner that I had planned.
Jax: You made dinner?
Skye: Yeah. Surprise!
Jax: You know, I mentioned I had a business meeting, but I didn't mention that it would include dinner.
Skye: Oh. Well, that meeting just went on longer than you expected?
Jax: Yeah. You know, I thought it'd be quick, but we got caught up in negotiations. You know how it goes.
Skye: Yeah. I certainly do.
Jax: So I should've called you, let you know I'd be late.
Skye: Oh. Nonsense.
Jax: No, but you went to all this trouble. Look at this beautiful dinner that you made.
Skye: Oh, hey, hey, hey, hey. No, no, I didn't tell you about the dinner, so I can't really blame you for not being here, can I?
Jax: Still, I want to make it up to you.
Skye: Well, I think that we can arrange that, can't we?
Skye: You know what? Wait. Wait a minute.
Jax: Wait for what?
Skye: Well, I, I've been feeling a little tense. You know, it's been such a long day.
Jax: Well, I can certainly help you relax.
Skye: I think I know exactly where we can do that, too.
Jax: Really? How about right here?
Skye: Ooh. The shower.
Jax: Ok.
[Skye shoots Edward a look as he quickly makes his get-away]
[Later]
Jax: Well. To the most beautiful woman I've had the pleasure of being with since breakfast.
Skye: Well, all of your wheeling and dealing has certainly put you in a cheerful mood.
Jax: Well, the meeting went well.
Skye: How well?
Jax: Well, let's just say that I'm close to closing.
Skye: What was the name of the company?
Jax: Why? Did I mention it before?
Skye: Yeah, you said something earlier this morning. Trey...
Jax: Yeah, Treycon Industries.
Skye: Yeah. And how much are you bidding?
Jax: Why do you want to know?
Skye: Oh, well, I like to think of myself as a capable negotiator, but why not learn some tricks from the master, huh?
Jax: Hmm.
Skye: All those smart moves and clever plays. That way when I'm back at the helm of ELQ, I will be as astute as you are.
Jax: Well, you don't have far to go.
Skye: Oh, come on. Every little bit helps. Tell me. How are you enticing Treycon Industries? Didn't they have some problems about being sued over some construction products?
Jax: Yeah, that's right.
Skye: Hmm. It's a little risky, isn't it?
Jax: Yeah, that's the word on the street.
Skye: But you like risks, don't you?
Jax: Only when I know I'm going to win.
Skye: How do you know?
Jax: Treycon settled their litigation this afternoon. No one outside the company knows except me.
Skye: Is that so?
Jax: That's right.
Jax: Do you want to get back to, you know, finishing what we started in the shower?
Skye: Oh. You still haven't told me what you're planning on bidding.
Jax: Later. Come on.
Skye: Now or never.
Jax: Well, you drive a hard bargain.
Skye: Oh. Well, you ain't seen nothing yet.
