Skye: Wake up. Catch up here, pay attention. You are on the fast track now. No downtime, no letup. Blink and you're left behind. In case you haven't noticed, the minimum standards have changed. "Good enough" won't cut it. From this point on, "amazing" will be our starting place, and we are only going to go up from there. I don't want to see anyone on this team acting like they know the drill, all right? You know the old drill. The new one is going to give every patron who walks through that door exactly what they hope for. And do you what that is?
RC: A good time?
Skye: An unforgettable night. The club-going experience of their dreams. Fabulous ambiance and flawless service. Do you get the picture?
RC: Yes, yes, yes.
Skye: Good. Then I want you to forget everything you know about working for Carly and you focus on meeting my expectations.
[RC leaves to get to work]
Jax: I love a woman who knows what she wants.
[Skye smiles and then starts to explain all her ideas for the club]
Skye: And the dance floor is going to be moved to where it should've been in the first place so that diners here can have private conversation if they'd like. Along with 20 or 30 other minor changes, I guess I'll have to just live with Carly's choices for the time being.
Jax: Sounds expensive.
Skye: Hey, takes money to make money.
Jax: Are you trying to bankrupt me?
Skye: That is the plan. How long do you think that's going to take?
Jax: Oh, I think that would take a good, long while.
Skye: Oh. Maybe you're overconfident.
Jax: I'm never overconfident. This Treycon Industries deal is seriously profitable.
Skye: Oh. Well, the second you close, we should celebrate.
Jax: Too late.
Skye: Well... What do you mean, "too late"?
Jax: I wrapped up the deal last night. That meeting I had to rush off to? Dotted the is and crossed the ts. Signed, sealed, and delivered. Treycon Industries is now mine. To tell you the truth, it was, it was quite easy. I thought Edward would at least make a stab at sabotaging it.
Skye: [to herself] So did I.
----------------------------------------
Edward: And that was the exact figure, hmm?
Skye: You lying... [Skye barges in and slams down Edward's phone, ending his conversation]
Edward: What!
Skye: ...rotten, two-faced snake in the grass! You are going to pay for jerking me around!
Edward: Calm down!
Skye: No, we had a deal!
Edward: We still have a deal.
Skye: I smiled in Jax's face and I slept in his bed to get you that information that you swore was going to bring him down. Whatever happened to, "he's not going to know what hit him," or, "I can't wait to see the look on that Aussie playboy's face when he realizes we've left him penniless"?!
Edward: Lower your voice! These walls have ears.
Skye: No, whatever happened to outbidding him, Grandfather?! Or was that the ploy all along, huh? To compromise me?
Edward: My dear, you know, last night was a test, and you passed with flying colors. Jax's prowess with women is, oh, it's legendary, and I just had to be sure that you still weren't under his spell and were going to stab me in the back. I had to test your resolve. I had to make sure that the information you were giving me was accurate. That, that phone call right there that I was making that you interrupted was verifying the information that you slipped me last night. I had to make sure that you were on my side.
Skye: I am not on your side, Grandfather. I am on my own side. Now, we have a contract, and I fulfilled my obligation.
Edward: My dear, no. No, no. You just proved that we trust each other sufficiently to move forward. Divide and conquer is Jax's favorite game, and I don't want him playing it with you.
Skye: Have you ever been plowed down by stiletto heels, Grandfather? Oh, that's right, yes, you have. I did it once and I will do it again if I even think that you are double-crossing me! We have a deal, I help you destroy Jax and you make me sole beneficiary of all of your assets, irreversible. Now, I have jumped through my last hoop, Grandfather. I have stopped going for your love or your approval or even invitations into this house. What I want is that payback. And if you cheat me, I will grind you into dust!
----------------------------------------
Skye: We're not open. And even if we were, you wouldn't be welcome.
Jason: I have a meeting with Jax.
Skye: Why would Jax be meeting with you?
Jason: It's about the club.
Skye: This club isn't for sale.
Jason: I'll wait for the owner.
Skye: Well, must be pretty satisfying to ride around on your motorcycle pretending to be some fearless thug while waiting for your inheritance to kick in. Well, I've got news for you, there won't be any inheritance for you or any other Quartermaine besides me. So you just sit there as smug as you want, treating me like I'm hardly a consideration, but let's see who's smug in the end when I'm Edward's only heir.
Jason: What are you talking about? That's all you think about, taking people's money after they're dead?
Skye: Unlike you who threaten people, who destroy businesses, destroy families. Does it ever bother you how you make money?
Jax: Answer to that would be no. Don't waste your time, Skye. It's like talking to a wall. What do you want?
Jason: Sonny wants to buy the club for Carly.
Jax: Not interested. Anything else?
Jason: Come on, Jax. You don't need this place.
Jax: Well, I've already given the manager's position to Skye, so I can't very well rescind her job.
Jason: You're not holding onto this place for Skye. It's a way for you to get over on Sonny.
Jax: Well, that's not my primary consideration, but it does always have its fringe benefits.
Jason: How far would you go to wreck Sonny? Would you set him up, maybe pay someone else to do it?
Jax: You know, for a man who doesn't say much, you have a lot of questions. Is your boss in some kind of trouble?
Jason: No. But you could be.
Jax: Oh, there's the threat, right on time. Well, I'll say this for you, Jason, you're remarkably consistent.
Jason: Jax, I don't threaten people.
Jax: That's right. You're just the messenger. So here's my message for Sonny, the club's not for sale to him at any price. And don't bother showing up around here again because you'll be turned away at the door.
[Jason leaves]
Jax: [to Skye] Sorry about that. I tried to give you a heads up. I tried to call you on your cell phone.
Skye: Oh, yeah, I had an errand to run.
Jax: You ok?
Skye: Oh, I can handle Jason.
Jax: There's something else going on here. You want to tell me now, or do I have to find out on my own?
Skye: A month ago, you know, I was running ELQ, a multinational company. Today I'm running a nightclub while you're out making million-dollar deals. It's kind of tough on a former CEO's pride.
Jax: Oh.
Skye: Not that I'm blaming you or it's your fault. No, it's my fault for not really paying attention. But, you know, I, I really don't want to dwell on it. I don't. I'd much rather celebrate your profitable deal with you.
Jax: Nice try, but there's more to it than that.
Skye: Hey, I am not complaining about running the club. I mean, certainly it gives me something to focus on, and, as we both know, I do tend to get into trouble with too much free time on my hands. And, besides, there's a certain cachet from turning this place into something bigger than Carly ever dreamed of, hmm?
