Jax: You know, marriage is, it's usually a beginning. Why would you think it would be an end for us?
Skye: Because you said it yourself, Jax.
Love equals loss. I mean, the more that you
love, the more that it hurts when you lose it in
the end.
Jax: Skye, you're doing something that you would never do in business, you're making a decision based on fear.
Skye: Maybe it's just smart thinking.
Jax: Look, nothing comes without risk, Skye. But I'm asking you to be that stubborn, courageous woman I fell in love with and take a chance on us. Trust the love more than the fear of losing it. If you can do that, if you will do that, I will spend the rest of my life making sure you never regret it.
Jax: Yeah, that's it. Let it out. One little word, three tiny letters.
Skye: Yes. Yes, I will marry you!
|
Skye: Oh, if this is a dream and you wake me up, I will kill you right where you are.
Jax: This is no dream.
Skye: Are we really engaged?
Jax: Yeah, now that you finally said yes. Only took you half the night.
Skye: Oh, I know. I'm a pain.
Jax: You're my pain.
[Phone rings]
Jax: Wanna let the machine get it?
Skye: No, you can answer it. You can share with whomever it is our good news. Go ahead.
Jax: All right. This is Jax and I have astounding news! Oh, hello, Edward.
Edward: You'll never know how much it galls me to have to hear your Aussie voice whenever I want to talk to my granddaughter. Put her on the phone, blaggard. No, wait, wait, wait. What, what astounding news?
Jax: Well, I asked Skye to marry me, and she agreed.
Edward: Oh. Oh, well, then I guess it's true what they say about water finding its own level. I'm sure the two of you will be perfectly miserable together.
Jax: He's thrilled. [He hands Skye the phone]
Skye: Hello, Edward. What do you think of our fabulous news?
Edward: Oh, I think that this is beyond excellent, Skye. Jax trusts us even more than we thought. And now that you're engaged, you can have total access. You can bring me that oil map, and he will never even see it coming.
[Later]
Skye: What's the matter? Don't you think it's a little late for an attack of shyness?
Jax: You know, stones over 10 carats can draw blood.
Skye: Oh. Well, if you think I'm ever going to take this off, forget it. This is my proof that my claims were unfounded, that you really are the man that I thought you are. The man who loves me, the man that I love and trust with all my heart.
Jax: The man you just agreed to marry.
Skye: Ooh, do I love the sound of that.
