[The mystery woman from Alcazar's yacht gazes at the newspaper engagement photo of Skye and Jax]

Jax: Hi.
Ned: Hi.
Alexis: This is for you.
Skye: Oh, thank you. Thank you so much for coming.
Jax: Yeah, you know, we weren't, we weren't exactly sure, so soon after Kristina.
Ned: Well, we think the best way to honor Kristina is to go on with our lives.
Alexis: I know that she would want me to be here so, she owes a lot to you and so do I.
Skye: You know, Jax and I were just talking about that, how life goes on. That's what your baby's all about. You two are very lucky to have each other, but I'm sure you already know that.
Skye: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I say something wrong?
Alexis and Ned: No.
Ned: Absolutely not.
Alexis: No. No.
Skye: [she sees Alan and Monica enter] Oh, if you'll excuse me.
Jax: Sure.
Alan: Well, I have to say it. I have never seen you look more beautiful.
Skye: Oh. Well, I'm happy, and terrified. Oh, did I mention "terrified"?
Alan: Well, terror is a natural reaction when you're going to get married.
Monica: Yes, and I wouldn't take it lightly if I were you. I was terrified the day I married Alan and I just tossed it off to prewedding jitters. Talk about not having proper respect for foreboding.
Alan: What exactly are you trying to say?
Monica: I'm saying be afraid. Be very afraid.
Skye: Oh, well, thank you for coming. [she walks up to Edward, who has just joined the party]
Skye: Did you bring the contract?
Edward: I certainly did, mm-hmm.
Skye: Oh, my God. Grandfather, you cannot show that, that document in public. If you do, my life will be finished!
[Jax walks up]
Jax: Edward, what a surprise. Lila called. She said she was in bed with a cold. I assumed you'd stay home with her.
Edward: Oh, no, I, I wouldn't miss this for the world.
Skye: Oh.
Jax: You came bearing gifts.
[It's a slim box, just the right size for holding a contract]
Edward: Mm-hmm.
Jax: That's very generous of you. [he shakes it] Well, it doesn't tick. That's good news.
Skye: You know what? I'll just take that.
Jax: That's ok. I've got it.
Edward: No, let's put it here where it belongs, huh? [he sets it on the table with the other gifts]
Jax: You enjoy yourself, Edward.
Edward: Thank you.
[Jax leaves them]
 Skye: What kind of sick game are you playing?
Edward: You'll figure it out for yourself soon enough.
Skye: Grandfather, if Jax sees that document with my signature on the bottom in which I promise to betray him for the family fortune, I will lose everything that matters to me.
Edward: Well, then, my dear, it promises to be a very interesting evening, doesn't it, huh?
[Jax walks up]
Jax: Skye, I need you. [to the room] May I have everyone's attention, please? I want to make a toast to the woman I'm going to marry.
Jax: It's been one hell of a ride, this journey you and I have taken. I can't say I've loved every moment, but I can say without any reservation that I love where it's taken us. You changed my life, Skye. I didn't think that I was able to love again. I didn't really want to try. But you changed that. You made me stand up and take notice. But here we are, about to embark on the most important journey of our lives, as husband and wife. And I say to you, in front of all these witnesses, that I've been humbled by the gift of your trust, and I intend to spend the rest of my life living up to that. To my future wife.
Alan: Hear, hear.
Ned: Hear, hear.
Alexis: Hear, hear.
Jax: I love you. I always will.
Edward: Hear.
Ned: Hear.
Jax: Well, folks, you can consider the buffet officially open.
 Edward: Oh, oh, oh, not so fast. Skye, isn't there something that you need to say to this man that you love, hmm?
Jax: I'm not sure what I'm hearing in your voice, Edward, but I don't like it. If my engagement to Skye seems to you like an opportunity to mock her, I'd rather you leave now.
Edward: Oh, oh, how protective.
Jax: Good night, Edward.
Skye: No, Jax, it's ok. Grandfather's right. I do have something to say to you, and I would like him to hear every word. In fact, I want everyone to hear what I have to say.
 Skye: Jax, you said that we made quite a journey together. Well, I say that I was the one who had the furthest to go. You see, I couldn't find my heart. It was buried under all those layers of mistrust and deception, I hadn't even felt it for so long. And then suddenly, you were there. Strong and true and clear enough to see right through me, right down to my very core. And then the most amazing thing happened. You accepted me. Me, Skye, with all my stupid walls and defenses, the Queen of Self-destruction. You came into my life and restarted my heart. I feel every beat now. And I love you more than I thought it was ever possible to love. I am done with the games and the fear and the mad dash for money and power. I know now that they are only diversions to keep you busy from the last time you see the person you love to the next. And you are that person for me, Jax. Forever and always.
Skye: To love. It really does exist.
AJ: Hear, hear.
 Skye: Oh! AJ, you came.
AJ: Absolutely. Congratulations.
Skye: Oh. Hey. I just, I know that it's really hard for you to walk into a room like this.
AJ: Oh, come on. These people can't hurt me anymore. Besides, I have my priorities in line now, you know, and it's more important for me to be here for you than to stay away for me.
Skye: Oh, boy. If I don't get to a powder room right now, I'm going to ruin my makeup, ok?
AJ: Ok, all right.
Skye: Excuse me.
[Skye leaves the room for a moment]
Jax: So, Edward, did you hear what Skye and I said to each other?
Edward: Yes, I heard.
Jax: Do you now believe that we are truly in love? That I have no intention of going after your precious empire by using her?
Edward: Well, if that's true, then I stand duly corrected.
Jax: Well, it doesn't mean that I don't plan to acquire it. I just don't intend to use her.
Edward: Good luck to you, Jax, because after you're married, you're going to need all the luck you can get.
[Jax sees Skye head toward Edward's gift and confronts her at the table]
 Jax: Skye? What's going on? And why is Edward's gift so important?
Skye: Oh, I just, I wanted to open it and make sure we weren't going to be embarrassed in case Edward gave us something, you know, horrible.
Jax: You know what? Edward is upsetting you, so I'm going to ask him to leave and get rid of this, as well.
Skye: No, no, no, no, Jax. It's, it's ok, really. I don't want to make a scene tonight. Just, just hold me, ok?
Jax: Ok.

[Skye finally makes her way outside and away from the party, she rips open Edward's gift only to find that the box did not contain the contract after all]
Edward: Are you looking for this?
Skye: Ok. Look, you've had your fun. Now you give me that contract like we agreed so I can destroy it.
Edward: You know, my dear, we have certainly had our share of agreements, haven't we? And our share of disagreements, too. In fact, I don't seem to remember that your getting to keep Jax was a part of this particular deal.
Skye: What are you saying? That you're going to keep the contract now?
 Edward: No. No, I'm going to give it to Jax.
Skye: You cannot give Jax that contract! It will ruin everything for me!
Edward: You know, you surprise me, Skye. You don't play this game nearly as well as one might think.
Skye: You bastard! You never intended to give me that contract back, or make me sole heir, did you?
Edward: Never. I was just biding my time, waiting until I got you right where I wanted you, where I could impose maximum damage.
Skye: My God, I'm your granddaughter! Your flesh and blood. You really want to destroy me so completely?
Edward: The same way that you would destroy me if you had the brains! Now, you and Jax need to take some lessons from someone about going up against me, lady, and the first and most important one being that you can't win. You can never win!
Skye: AJ was right to walk out on you. You are dead inside.
Edward: I may be, but I sure as Hell can add some life to this party.
 Skye: Over my dead body! You are not going to do this to me and Jax! He is a good man.
Edward: You don't deserve Jax any more than you deserve to be a Quartermaine!
Skye: No, give it!
Edward: Not a chance! Oh! Oh! Oh! [Edward appears to be in pain]
Skye: Oh, God, please. I'm not falling for that phony heart attack routine. Now give me!
Edward: [he begins to fall to the ground] I don't, I don't know what's happening.
Skye: Please, look, give me that!
 Jax: Edward? Skye! What the Hell is going on here?!

[During this time, the mystery woman on Alcazar's yacht has been up to a lot. She's had her nurse working with her without Alcazar's knowledge. They managed to take Zander captive and they hold him on the yacht, while the nurse interrogates him with questions that come from the mystery woman.]
Nurse: My employer has agreed to hear your information. She's given me a list of questions to ask.
Zander: That's fine. But like I said, my information comes with a price tag.
Nurse: I understand. Answers in exchange for your life. I need you to tell me everything you know about Sonny Corinthos.
[Zander tells all he knows, including answering surprising questions about Sonny's love life. Detailed questions about his and Carly's relationship.]
Nurse: All right. Let's move on.
Zander: That's all I know.
Nurse: Oh, we're not finished. Tell me about Jasper Jacks.
 Zander: Ok, why does he matter?
Nurse: Tell me about Skye and Jax.
Zander: Ok. Skye is a trip. She's selfish, she's unpredictable. She almost got me and the woman that I love killed. I wouldn't trust her around the corner.
Nurse: And this woman is engaged to Jax?
Zander: I don't know. Who cares?
Nurse: The woman I work for.
Zander: Ok, why? Why? Why does this lady want to know so much about Jax and Sonny's personal lives?
[Later, the nurse reports her findings to the mystery woman]
Nurse: It seems Sonny is in a volatile but loving marriage with this Carly. Jax is involved with a strong woman, as well, and they're about to be married.
