[Zander groans]
Nurse: What are you doing out of bed?
Zander: I want out of here.
Nurse: You'll make a noise and be discovered.
Zander: Look, you think I should stay here and let you drug me some more?
Nurse: Trust me, if Alcazar finds out you're here, you'll be killed.
Zander: Ok, then help me. Help me escape, please.
Nurse: Not until my mistress finds out everything she needs to know about Sonny Corinthos and Jasper Jacks.
Zander: Tell whoever you are working for I don't know anything else. Sonny is married. Sonny and Carly are at each other's throats one second and then they're crazy about each other the next. He even adopted her kid. Jax is engaged and, I mean, why does any of this matter to the woman you're working for?
Nurse: What if I told you at one time she loved both these men? She wants to find out if they still love her.
Zander: Ok, look, I don't know that much about Jax, ok? He seems happy enough. But Sonny I've worked with. I saw him almost every day, and he never mentioned any woman from the past. So whoever this lady is that you're working for, Sonny got over it a long time ago.

[at the hospital]
Monica: Well, Skye is still here.
Alan: She's been sitting there all night. She said she's given up the battle for ELQ. I think she means it.
Monica: Or maybe she's just waiting for the coast to be clear so she can pull the plug.
Alan: I don't appreciate that, Monica. I really believe that she's changed. Her priorities are different.
Jax: As amazing as it may seem, your happy family is not the center of Skye's universe anymore. It's a real pity that you didn't get to know her when she was living under your roof. You didn't get to see what an amazing woman she is.
[in Edward's room]
 Skye: I hate that I made a deal with you to ruin the man that I love. Why did you play on my fears and insecurities? But I was stupid enough to believe you instead of Jax. Part of me wishes you'd never wake up. Unfortunately, I need to know if the copies of the contract that I have are the only ones out there or if you've planted others for Jax to find.
Skye: Grandfather, the doctors don't think you're going to make it. Please, for once in your life, will you do the right thing towards me?

Petra: I found this in the Maestro's desk. It was addressed to you, to be opened in the event of his death. I thought you'd want to have it right away.
Edward's voice: "Ned, if you're reading this, it means that Skye has already done her worst. I trust you will use the enclosed to exact proper retribution. Spare Lila's feelings wherever possible, but get rid of that viper Skye for the good of the family."
 Petra: What does it mean?
Ned: It means my dear cousin Skye is about to have her world blown apart.

Alan: For my daughter's sake and for my family's, I hope that Skye's not the only one who's changed. The last thing that my father needs if he...when he recovers is to be drawn back into a battle over ELQ.
Jax: The last thing you need, you mean. Because your father loves the fight, you know that.
Alan: Whether he loves it or not, it's killing him, and I don't want Skye caught in the middle.
Jax: Well, I couldn't agree more. Your family's done enough damage where Skye is concerned.
Alan: You don't know anything.
Monica: Look, I'm not standing up for Skye, but it is very difficult for all of us to trust you when the whole relationship has been about ELQ right from the start.
Jax: Right. Yeah, it has been. When I first met Skye, we, we helped each other out to get what we wanted.
Alan: ELQ.
Jax: But we're past that now. We're getting married because we love each other, because we want to spend the rest of our lives together.
Alan: Well, then I hope that you and my daughter will be very happy and that you'll leave ELQ alone. Skye needs to stop obsessing about destructive vendettas and start concentrating on positive things.
Jax: Right.
[Monica's pager beeps]
Monica: Excuse me. I'm going to be in OR 3 if there's any change.
Alan: I'll walk you down.
[Alan and Monica leave, Jax looks into Edward's room and knocks on the window to get her attention]
 [Jax's phone rings]
Jax: Hey, Dad. Have they countered yet? No, of course not, we're not going to sign anything until we've seen the final specs. Yeah, damn right. This would be a done deal if we had the complete map.
Jax: Yes, Dad, I understand what's at stake here. Right. I'll get on it right away. Bye. [to Skye] I have to take care of something. You ok?
Jax: Did he show any sign...
Skye: Of coming to? No. I thought maybe there was something, but it was nothing.
Jax: I'll be back soon.
[Ned walks up]
Ned: Jax?! I have something here you'll want to see.
Jax: It's going to have to wait.
Ned: No. No, it's important.
Jax: I'll call you.
Ned: Today! [Jax leaves] He thinks you love him.
Skye: I do.
Ned: I have a contract right here that says you intended to cut Jax's head off and hand it to Grandfather on a platter. And you better believe I'm going to show Jax this contract.
[they go into Edward's room]
Ned: Grandfather, I got your letter. Don't you worry, Skye will never get her hands on ELQ.
Skye: I don't want ELQ.
Ned: Save it! I know the whole ugly truth. I know this whole falling in love with Jax was nothing but a plan.
Skye: I am in love with Jax.
Ned: I read the contract, Skye!
Skye: Look, I was in a jealous rage when I was manipulated into signing that, ok? I don't want ELQ. I love Jax.
Ned: Really? Well, I'd almost believe you if I hadn't read the contract that says if you help bankrupt Jax, Grandfather will make you his sole heir.
Skye: Grandfather played on my fears and insecurities, and he led me to believe that Jax was cheating on me.
Ned: Really? So you believed Grandfather over the man you swear you love?
Skye: Look, I panicked, ok, and Grandfather took advantage of that.
Ned: Stop talking right now. I know your so-called love is a scam. And once I tell Jax about this contract, he will drop you so fast that Grandfather may wake up to lead the cheer. And since you failed to bankrupt Jax, well, that means the contract is void and you won't get one dime, not one single share of ELQ.
Skye: Look, Ned, I can explain this, ok?
Ned: Oh, please do.
Skye: Listen, after Grandfather misled me and I signed that, I found out that Jax had never been unfaithful. Grandfather showed me a photograph of Jax giving another woman a necklace, and it turns out she was just an old family friend who's in the jewelry business and who acted as an agent in buying this necklace, my, my engagement gift.
Ned: So there won't be a problem if I tell Jax the truth because you've already been honest with him? That's what I thought.
Skye: Ned, please, just, look, Jax loves me, ok? He wants to make a life with me. That is all I care about. Now, Grandfather has been hanging that contract over my head, trying to get me to sabotage Jax and his business dealings, but I wouldn't cooperate, ok? I don't want ELQ, you're welcome to it. All I want is to marry Jax, please.
 Ned: So you've been trying to get out of this deal?
Skye: Yes.
Ned: Hmm. And Grandfather being Grandfather laughed in your face because, well, he wouldn't let you out.
Skye: Well, it was a brilliant plan. I mean, he bankrupts Jax, he takes away my happiness, two birds with one stone. Not that he had an ounce of compassion for you. If that contract had actually been enforced, you and the rest of the Quartermaines would have been left out of that will completely.
Ned: You asked Grandfather to tear up this contract, and he refused.
Skye: I begged him.
Ned: You know, I can actually see Grandfather, you know, holding you to this deal, forcing you to go through with stabbing Jax in the back. Is that what you were arguing about when he had a stroke?
Skye: Yeah. I was trying to get him to give me his copy of the contract.
Ned: And he refused, so you pushed him into a stroke.
Skye: No!
Ned: Just like you pushed him into the heart attack earlier.
Skye: No!
Ned: What did you say to him?
Skye: I didn't say anything!
Ned: You tried to kill him!
 Skye: No, I didn't, damn it! Damn you, wake up! You wake up right now and you tell him I didn't do anything to you! I did not try to kill Grandfather. You can't make someone have a stroke. I didn't want this to happen.
Ned: Of course you did. It would solve all your problems.
Skye: No, I went to Grandfather to try and get out of the contract. He had a stroke before he could destroy it.
Ned: I don't believe that for one second. That's why Grandfather sent me the contract, because he knew you would come after him. He wants me to protect ELQ.
Skye: Ned, take the damn company, all right? Just tear up that contract and...
Ned: And trust you?!
Skye: And never show Jax.
Ned: And trust you?! The way you turn on people? The way you say one thing to a person's face and then turn around and stab them in the back? I'm going to tell Jax the truth because that's what I want him to tell me. Nobody wants to be played for a fool, and finding out early is a Hell of lot better than finding out later.
 Skye: Ned, I was the fool, ok? Something wonderful happened to me, and I couldn't trust it. And then I made a mistake, and I made it worse by trying to cover it up. Haven't you ever done anything like that? Haven't you ever wished for a second chance? Wished with all your heart that you'd done things a little different and maybe you'd been a little more honest? Ned, please, I found love. Don't take it away from me.
Ned: Jax needs to be told. Anything less will destroy him in the end. Because that's what secrets do. They kill love. They even kill people.
Skye: Hey, Ned, whatever happened between you and Kristina...
Ned: Jax will be told!
Skye: Please, just let me be the one to tell him.
Jax: Tell me what? Is this about what you wanted to show me before?
Skye: Please.
Ned: Skye will fill you in.

Jax: Since when do you and Ned collaborate on anything?
Skye: That document that Ned was holding was a contract with my signature on it. I made a deal with the Devil. And the Devil was Grandfather.
Jax: A contract for what?
 Skye: Grandfather had me primed to believe that you were just using me to get ELQ. He even had a list of the names of wives of CEOs to contact, women who you'd seduced to get information on their husbands' companies. And then you lied about going to Australia when you really went to Paris, and suddenly Edward had this photograph of you with this woman and you were giving her a necklace. And I didn't know what to believe. I didn't want to believe, but it was you in the picture. And, well, I kept waiting for you to explain it to me, but you couldn't because you were trying to surprise me with my, my beautiful gift. But to me it just seemed like you were supporting the lie, you know, covering up for an affair. And, well, Grandfather knew how insecure I was about love, and I chose to believe what any other woman would have, that you were being unfaithful. That's when Grandfather offered me this deal. I don't know what I was thinking. I wasn't thinking straight. I was, my heart was breaking into a million pieces. I was hurt and I was angry and I wanted you to hurt the way that I hurt, and then Grandfather was offering me this chance to wipe you out. And then came the topper. If I helped him bankrupt you, he'd make me sole heir.
Jax: And you, and you put this in a written contract?
Skye: Yes.
 Jax: You sell me out and Edward gives you his entire estate?
Skye: Jax, you lied to me, ok? I thought you were cheating on me, that you were saying you loved me and you were sleeping with somebody else, ok? Well, then when you came back and you explained to me who the woman was and you gave me the necklace, I realized that, you know, what a mistake I made. Then you asked me to marry you? And then I realized that you meant it, that you really did love me, and I realized what a horrible mistake it was. And I tried to get out of the contract. I did. I begged Edward to rip it up, but he wouldn't. He was determined to humiliate us both, to bankrupt you, and to destroy my happiness. I did. I begged him. I stalled him. I ran around town like a crazy woman, trying to get every copy of the contract that I could so you wouldn't find out. I even, I even prayed that he would die so you wouldn't find out. Please, Jax, please. You have to believe me. I don't care about ELQ. I just, I love you. You made me believe in your love. Please, please believe in mine.
 Skye: Wait. Jax, wait! You just can't walk out. You have to tell me what you're thinking.
Jax: I'm thinking why I should believe a word that comes out of your mouth.
