[at Alexis' penthouse]
Alexis: I'm sorry about Skye. I heard about it.
Jax: Well, I can't say I wasn't warned.
Alexis: If anyone on this planet deserves to be loved, it's you.
Jax: Yeah, when you finally saw Sonny for what he is, did you want to be reminded?
Alexis: Nice weather we're having.
Jax: Don't have to go quite that far, but...
Alexis: Ok. How about those Yankees? Well, we could talk about soccer. I don't know anything about soccer. Why do they wear those shorts?
Jax: I need a lawyer. Someone out there seems hell-bent on bankrupting me. My family and I could lose everything if I don't do something.
Alexis: Do you have any idea who it is?
Jax: Well, it seems to be the same person that's going after Sonny. [he explains everything to her] You know, a lot depends on the oil lease map. My family's made a considerable investment in this project.
Alexis: So you think Roy is a suspect? Why?
Jax: Well, one minute, he's a bartender, the next minute, he's buying Pier 52. I mean, somebody's backing him to start a war with Sonny. And it cost you Kristina. Look, if this is too painful for you, I'll find another way.
Alexis: I owe it to my sister to find out what happened, and whoever's responsible for that explosion should be punished.
Jax: You're ok, then?
Alexis: All right, this so-called mystery man, you think he's using Roy to go after Sonny?
Jax: Yeah, Roy stole the oil map.
Alexis: Are you sure it wasn't Skye?
Jax: Well, she says she didn't. I have no reason to believe her, but it hasn't shown up at ELQ, and no one has claimed any leases.
Alexis: Maybe she's biding her time.
Jax: It's possible. But here's the strange part, somebody sent me back half the oil map. Now, that was way before Edward's stroke, and he would never have let that happen.
Alexis: All right, this is a stretch, but maybe Skye is having an attack of guilt.
Jax: Well, why would she only send back half the map?
Alexis: As a bargaining chip.
Jax: What if Skye has nothing to do with it? What if the mystery man is dealing with a turncoat?
Alexis: Dissensions in the ranks?
Jax: Either way, I still have to protect myself.
[Ned enters]
Alexis: Hi.
Ned: Hi.
Alexis: How's Edward?
Ned: About the same.
Jax: Your timing's impeccable as usual.
Alexis: We're having one of those attorney-client confidentiality moments.
Jax: Well, actually, I could use his input.
Ned: Sure. What's up?
Jax: Who hates Sonny enough to use Roy against him?
Ned: Who cares?
Alexis: Well, the mystery man seems to be going after Jax, too.
Ned: Well, then, Jax, why don't you just get out of the way, so we can let the mystery man destroy Sonny? Save the rest of us the trouble.
Jax: What happened to Ned Ashton, the mild-mannered music promoter?
Ned: He has left the building.
Jax: The corporate shark's back?
Ned: Losing Kristina made me realize who we're dealing with here. Sonny has to be stopped at any cost. So why don't we just let this guy take Sonny out?
Jax: Because he's coming after me, too.
Ned: Why do you think God gave us Switzerland? Off-shore banking? Consolidate your debt. Liquidate everything if you have to. Just hide your money, and let this guy focus on Corinthos.
Jax: You want me to cut my losses?
Ned: Yeah. Isn't that what you do best?
Jax: Why should I go into hiding?
Ned: Why would you want to fight Sonny's enemy for him? Wouldn't that make you his ally? But if you step out of the way... Jax, listen to me, Sonny could lose everything, all of his money, all of his power. Isn't that what you want?
Alexis: That's a good plan, Jax.
Jax: I guess I'll have to reconsider my options. Thanks.
Alexis: I'll help you in any way that I can.
Jax: I'll talk to you soon.
Alexis: Thanks.
Jax: Bye.

Jax: You didn't have to call a press conference on my behalf.
Taggert: Good luck taking the limelight away from the DA.
Jax: What can I do for you, detective?
Taggert: I'm trying to locate Skye Quartermaine.
Jax: I'm no longer in touch with Skye. The engagement is off, in case you hadn't heard.
Taggert: Did she go back to Llanview?
Jax: She could be there. She could be in Timbuktu for all I know.
Taggert: So I guess it won't bother you to hear that Skye is the prime suspect in who pulled the plug on Edward's ventilator.
Jax: Not in the least.
Taggert: Is that why you dumped her?
